东汉名将班超,在出使西域的过程中,面对鄯善国王udden change in attitude, he suspected the involvement of North Hun's envoys. To test his suspicion, he asked a servant of the king about the whereabouts of these supposed envoys. The servant was terrified and revealed everything to him. Ban Chao realized that his guess was correct and decided to act swiftly.
He gathered his 36 soldiers and proposed a plan: they would launch a surprise attack on the enemy's camp under the cover of night, catching them off guard and unaware of their actual numbers. His proposal was met with enthusiasm from his men, who were willing to follow him into battle.
Without consulting his colleague Guo Xun, Ban Chao led his troops in a daring nighttime assault on the enemy camp. They managed to defeat their opponents and successfully completed their mission.
This story is often used as an analogy for taking risks in order to achieve success: "不入虎穴,不得虎子" - one must be willing to face danger head-on if they hope to reap great rewards.
